About The RMS Arabic
Built in 1902 by Harland and Wolff, the RMS Arabic was given to The White Star Line Co. before her completion by another shipping line due to increasing financial difficulties. For many years, the ship was used for running out of Liverpool’s port, but the ship was unfortunately sunk by a German U boat in 1915 and sank within 10 minutes. 44 people lost their lives that day, 3 of the people aboard were American; it was this tragedy that led to negations about America’s involvement in WWI.
