Folk on the Dock
Where: Albert Dock
When: Saturday – Monday
Just a few minutes walk from 30 James Street, Folk on the Dock is the most exciting free events along the waterfront this summer. With more than 200 folk and acoustic performers taking to various stages across the iconic waterfront, be prepared to be blown away by up and coming acts and well-respected performers from the industry.
Albert Dock forms the main hub for the event, but the three-day festival will stretch around the area, inviting everyone to take a look and take part in the seafaring celebration.

Where: Camp & Furnace
When: Saturday – Sunday
Camp & Furnace in the Baltic Triangle will play host to Liverpool’s very first two-day Prosecco Festival this Bank Holiday.
The festival runs on both Saturday and Sunday and you can take your pick from one of the two sessions per day.
Featuring fabulous fizz from Northern Italian producers, prosecco master classes and tempting tasters, you’d be mad to miss the bank holiday prosecco fest in Liverpool.

Where: Liverpool Philharmonic Hall
When: Sunday, 7.30pm
On Sunday 27th August, the Philharmonic Hall will take viewers on a musical journey through the life and career of the iconic Bob Dylan for a one night only, special event.
Liverpool based artist John O’Connell explores and celebrates the work of the one the world’s greatest singer-songwriters and showcases a unique and breath-taking account of a career that changed the world.
The Cavern Club at 60
Where: The Cavern Club
When: Monday, 8pm
This year, August Bank Holiday falls in the iconic and well-loved International Beatles Week. A fitting date to celebrate 60 years of the Cavern Club on Matthew Street.
The Cavern Club is a must visit venue for every Beatles lover, after gaining a reputation as the home of the Fab Four – rightly so with 292 appearances by the icons!
The special show is presented by 60s legends The Overtures, another legendary group that is proud to call the Cavern Club home.
Growing Up in the City Exhibition
Where: Museum of Liverpool
When: Ends 30th August
It’s your last chance to see the Museum of Liverpool’s thought-provoking and heartfelt exhibition: Growing Up in the City: In Photographs.
The series of photographs show snapshots of life in Liverpool through the eyes of children. Not just the fun and innocence of a child’s life, but the hardship of war time and poverty.
The exhibition is a fascinating glimpse into times gone by and August Bank Holiday is your last weekend to take a look.
Summer Garden Party
Where: Stanley Park
If you want to venture further from the city and treat the family to a day of fun and excitement, head to Stanley Park on Saturday for the annual free Summer Garden Party.
There are a whole host of activities to enjoy, including craft workshops, yoga demonstrations and wildlife talks throughout the day.
There’s also live music and games to keep everyone occupied and happy this Bank Holiday weekend.
